From the high garden
John preparing his plot of potatoes in the high garden |
John particularly loves to garden it. When he stops working, he admires the the wonderful view, the mountains landscape, the lake, and, down the moor, the thatched roof lost in the greenery.
When he comes back, he often says he feels "good weariness" and rested at the same time.
Let's go to the "bachat" with him.

The "bachat"
One of the numerous springs that crosses the moor subsoil, supplies nearly all the year long a tiny but lovely "bachat". Beside it, a "natural fridge" ( a rocky hole with a wooden door) must have been very useful to the inhabitants in the past.
The "bachat" separates the cottage from it's nearest neighbour (an unoccupied stone house) everybody calls: the old school.
